Since the government’s release of information last year, the reporting of Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP) sightings and new frightening accounts of close encounters has skyrocketed. Now, in the second season of UFO WITNESS, eyewitness accounts, as well as exclusive video and photographic evidence of UFOs, aim to uncover the methods and motives behind the aliens visiting our planet.  Former federal agent Ben Hansen and investigative journalist Melissa Tittl have made it their mission to uncover the truth behind the most shocking and terrifying UFO sightings across America.

Ben Hansen

Ben Hansen is a former federal special agent and paranormal investigator. He currently stars in the new discovery+ series “UFO Witness,” where he reopens case files of some of the most astounding UFO encounters in history, files that have been hidden from the public for decades.

Hansen’s paranormal inspiration stems from the series, “The X-Files.” He grew up obsessed with the series, which gave him an insatiable desire to explore mysteries of the unknown. To transform this passion into a career, Hansen studied at the University of Utah, where he graduated with a degree in sociology and criminology. He worked for several private and public agencies investigating a wide range of crimes, eventually becoming a special agent for the U.S. government. While Hansen has an impressive track record investigating cases at the state and federal level, he is still anchored in his passion for the unknown and pursues paranormal cases.

Hansen’s knowledge of both criminal and paranormal investigations has caught the attention of several media outlets. His expertise has been called upon for numerous documentaries and series on networks such as Smithsonian, Destination America, CW and several appearances on Travel Channel. Hansen was the lead paranormal investigator in the Travel Channel series “Ghosts of Morgan City” and as founding host of the Syfy hit television show “Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files.” Breaking down captured media of alleged Bigfoot, UFO and ghost events, Hansen provides his expert opinion on some of the most current viral stories in the media. He has presented his research and findings at dozens of conferences across the globe.

Hansen also works as a commercial drone pilot and teaches advanced firearms, active shooter response and CPR courses. He owns a night vision and thermal camera retail business called Night Vision Ops as well as a company that sells bulletproof backpacks and other safety equipment. In his free time, he attempts to surf, enjoys basketball, rock climbing, scuba diving and flying small planes. He also believes firmly in the importance of volunteerism, especially when it comes to disaster preparedness. He serves on his community’s FEMA-sponsored community emergency response team and was formerly active with a disaster action team for the American Red Cross. Hansen is also the chief of media and entertainment for PrepperCon, the largest disaster preparedness/survival consumer expo in the country.

Hansen resides in Huntington Beach, California, with his wife and son.
